- 60 hours (NCGC-II) of gambling specific training and education
- 2,000* hours (NCGC-II) clinical experience treating gamblers and/or family members in an approved setting with a minimum number of sessions with a Board Approved Clinical Consultant (BACC)
* Minimum guidelines for approved supervision/consultation should include at least 4 one hour sessions (NCGC-I) or 2 one hour sessions for a period of two years totaling 24 hours (NCGC-II). BACC consultation may be done in person, by phone, by email, or as arranged between BACC and applicant. Applicant may present properly documented past clinical work with gamblers and their family members for consideration by the BACC, and if accepted these hours may be credited toward the 100/ 2,000 experiential hours required for NCGC-I/NCGC-II. These should include a minimum current reviewed caseload as agreed to with the BACC.

- Signed statement from Board Approved Clinical Consultant (S4, S5 and S6 forms)
- Signed application form (A1), ethical statement form (A2) and directory authorization form (A3)
- Passing score on certification Examination for Gambling Counselors (www.ptcny.com/clients/IGCCB)
- Confirmation of employment letter on letterhead from current employer
- Check, money order, or credit card payment in the amount of $175
