Gambling Disorder Trainer Certification (CGT)

The following is an outline of the requirements for certification as a Gambling Disorder Trainer (CGT):

This certification is designed to inform both consumers of gambling disorder training and organizations that fund and offer training. This certification supports the competence of trainers to provide current, evidence-based knowledge and skills to address clinical practice in the field of problem and disordered gambling.

There has never been an international gambling disorder trainer standard. Rather, it has largely been left to individual trainers to set the standard. As the field has grown, this has resulted in a gap in consistency and competence among trainers and in the content of gambling disorder clinical training. This certificate was established to help fill that gap by aligning with certification training requirements.
